Little Flutterbugs

We made it back from our trip to Miami! What fun we had visiting with family and friends. I also celebrated my first birthday. It was so much fun!! Here are some pictures from my birthday and trip.

Now, back in Jacksonville, our summer is full in swing with playdates, the beach and places to go to. We are looking forward to it. Will post soon.

Dearest one year old,

It is hard to believe that a year has passed since you were inside of me. You have grown up so much from under 7 pounds to almost 19 pounds. You kept your black and dark eyes, resembling your father and his side of the family. Your mouth is full of eight teeth, you wail and screech all day long. You hoot and holler at the cat and at Gabby.  Your babbles, grunts and giggles bring a smile to our faces. You’ve even managed to say your first word, mama.

We celebrated your first birthday with family and friends in Miami. Your birthday party was fit for a Cuban/Colombian princess. You were not overwhelmed by all the sight and sounds and all the arms that happily carried you. You truly loved the attention.

As our second child you have definitely been fortunate enough to have witnessed a a less neurotic, less controlling, less worried and nervous mom. Your first year has been a breeze, despite your challenges with eczema and food allergies.

You’ve been working on mastering the skill of walking. I am in no rush to have you accomplish this skill. I rather you take your time, because it goes by so quickly. As a mommy of two, I’ve learned that you don’t love one child more than another. The love you have just doubles. You are truly a happy baby girl. We love your energy, your enthusiasm, and your flirtatious way of being. I know I will always look back on your first year as one of the great treasures of my life.

to all the mommies out there! To my mom, mother -in-law, my two sister-in- laws, my sister and all my friends. Hope everyone has a fabulous day.

Enjoyed a delightful lunch at one of my favorite restaurants… Outback. Other than that, the day was like any other:

-filling up Gabby’s sippy cup with diluted apple juice for the 20th time
-swiping some small object from Ariana’s mouth before she swallows it
-reminding Gabby to share her toys
-again remove carpet fuzz from Ariana’s mouth
-scold the girls for playing with the cat’s food
-watch the same Max and Ruby episodes over and over again

best part of the day… hearing Gabby say “Happy Mother’s Day Mama and Feliz Dia de Madres”.

We celebrated my 2nd Birthday with Ariana, Mama and Dada. We went to Mickey Mouse House, Mickey Mouse Zoo and then had balloons and cupcake back at home. Here are pictures from my weekend long celebration.
